1. Who we are

SORNPhut is developed by Sornkan. The iOS app talks to our API hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Purchases are processed by Apple and RevenueCat.

2. Data we collect

• Account identifiers — a device-based or Apple Sign-In / email account id so we can restore your session and free-chat quota.
• Messages you send in chat — processed server-side to retrieve relevant passages, generate a grounded reply, and run safety moderation. We do not sell chat content.
• Purchase / entitlement status — whether your subscription is active, via Apple and RevenueCat (not full card numbers; Apple handles payment).
• Basic diagnostics — crash and performance signals if you enable them or as required to keep the service reliable.
• Notification preferences — e.g. trial-ending or daily verse reminders, stored on device and/or with the OS notification system.

3. How we use data

• Provide the kalyāṇamitta chat, home verse, and onboarding experience.
• Enforce free daily limits and premium access fairly.
• Route crisis-related language to human help resources (never behind a paywall).
• Improve reliability and prevent abuse (rate limits, safety events without storing raw crisis text longer than needed for audit categories).

4. AI / third-party processors

Message text may be sent to infrastructure providers solely to deliver the feature:

• Cloudflare (hosting, database, embeddings)
• Language-model providers for generation and/or moderation (server-side API keys only — never embedded in the iOS app)
• RevenueCat and Apple for subscriptions
• Email provider (e.g. Resend) if you use magic-link sign-in

We configure providers not to use your content to train public models where the contract allows that choice.

5. Citations and spiritual content

Scripture quotes are served with translator attribution (CC0 / public-domain / in-house renderings). We do not claim monastic authority. You can report an incorrect citation in-app.

6. Retention

• Chat history: retained while your account exists so you can continue a session; you may request deletion.
• Quota counters: short windows (daily).
• Purchase records: as required by Apple / tax / accounting.

7. Your choices

• Use free tier without purchasing.
• Decline optional notifications in iOS Settings.
• Request account/data deletion via the contact email above.
• Cancel subscription anytime in Apple Settings → Subscriptions.

8. Children

SORNPhut is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app if you are under the age required in your jurisdiction.

9. International users

Data may be processed in regions where Cloudflare and our providers operate. By using the app you understand that processing may occur outside your country with appropriate safeguards.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
